As a Business analyst, we should know the tool that are needed for data analysis,prepare UML diagrams ,mockups, wireframes ,prototyping , Requirement documentation, knowledge sharing, project collaboration etc There are 10 most useful tools that BA should know: MS Excel: Microsoft Excel is one of the most important tools used by Business Analysts for data analysis, reporting, requirements tracking, and decision-making.It Is helpful in analysing large amount of data,creating reports and dashboards ,for preparing RTM,database validation etc. As a BA , we should knows are sorting and filtering,pivot tables,conditional formatting,formulas ,Vlookups, Xlookups ,charts and graphs etc. MS Visio: Microsoft Visio (MS Visio) is a diagramming application from Microsoft .It is used to create Flowcharts,Network diagrams ,Organizational charts ,UML diagrams ,Business process maps ,Floor plans,database diagram etc MS Visio includes ready-made templates, shapes, and connectors that make it easy to create wireframes of the product. Jira: Jira is a project management tool. It is mainly used for managing Agile and scrum projects. Jira is used to manage requirements, userstories ,task, defects ,progress of the project. As a BA, we should know how to write the userstories, creating and managing product backlog, tracking the bug and the progress of the user stories, generate burndown and burnup charts for reporting the progress of the product. As a BA ,Confluence is used to documenting the requirements,storing project knowledge in central repository,recording MOM,collobrate with stakeholders,testers,developers and project managers,link requirement with jira,maintain version documents. Microsoft Power BI: Power BI is a business intelligence tool which is used for data visualization that transfom the data into visual insight in form of interactive dashboard and reports. As a BA ,we should how to analyze business data ,create interactive dashboards,m onitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) , Generate management reports ,Visualize large dataset. SQL:SQL is structured query language which is used to manage and manipulate the relational database.We can access the database from server,which can be accessible remotely from anywhere. As a BA,we should know how to create,read,update and delete the queries in a database.It helps BA to retrieve, analyze, validate, and report data from databases without depending entirely on developers or database administrators. Axure RP :It is a professional prototyping and wireframing software used to design, visualize, and document user interfaces for websites and applications. It enables UX designers, product managers, and developers to create interactive, realistic prototypes without coding, streamlining collaboration and design validation across teams. As a BA,we should know how to make a prototype of the project by using features of the Axure and take validation from the stakeholder by showing them a prototype of the project.In Axure we can share the project remotely. Balsamiq: It is a software application for creating low-fidelity user interface (UI) wireframes. It helps designers, product managers, and developers quickly sketch and iterate on layout concepts before detailed design or coding begins. Known for its hand-drawn aesthetic and simplicity, it promotes clarity and collaboration during early-stage design. As a BA ,we should know how to make a wireframes and mockups to take a design validation from a stakeholder. Lucidchart : It is a cloud-based, online diagramming application used to create flowcharts, org charts, process maps, UML, mind maps, and many other diagram types. It focuses on real-time collaboration and is widely used as a web-based alternative to desktop tools like Microsoft Visio.
