Project analysis ,planning and monitoring plays a key role in project management.Planning is the main step because in this process goals,resources allocation,budget,features,requirements timeline and the stakeholders are decided.While doing the planning it is necessary to analyze the market trends or legacy systems,old documentations and work on it to understand the differenece between the as-is and to-be system.While planning for new project we can use various methods to gather and priortize requirements accordingly.Techniques such as SMART,the 5'W that is who,when,what,how and why,RACI matrix to decide stakeholders and also the scope of project is checked and accordingly the methodolgies are decided.
Business analysis and planning starts with identifying the mission and vision.Identifying and deciding the requirements,doing the analysis using eliciatation techniques,implementing the solutions and documenting the process.It is the process in which we decide the key functions and how it will be executed.BA decides and works on the short and long term goals or features to be achieved,preparing the required documents,identifying the risks,analysing the plans and planning on the resources and budgets.Once a clear pathway is decided it helps to move ahead and achieve the objectives in decided timeframe.Planning With correct planning it avoids the delays and to deliver the products ontime.With this planning coordination between teams can be established and it leads to smooth functioning.As a busniess analyst he or she should conduct interviews,workshops,questionaries,JAD so that the main requiremenst are decided .After the analysis done and requirements gathered BA prioterizes the requiremenst using various techniques.Requirements should be closely montiored and segregated into functional,nonfunctonal and software requirement according to features and specifications.Monitoring is nothing but to analyse is the things decided and planned at the initial phase are being implented correctly or not.With help of monitoring the issues can be identified at early stage and the issues can be tackled.This helps to complete the project in planned timeframe and also maintain the budget and costing .Monitoring is done to keep the track of perofrmance so that it can be assued and checked that project is going as planned without any escalations.It is the responsibility of BA to achieve the delivery of product on time to maintain the quality of services.BA'S responsibility includes colborating with all the required team members that is stakeholders,developers,scrum developers,Project manager,project owner and business sponsors.Tools like JIRA are used by project managers and BA's to keep the track of features and note the current status of the development.Current stages can be monitored of the project and it helps to resolves the hurdles or issues being faced during the project excution.In the monitoring phase it is necessary to keep stakeholders and developmemnt team alinged with the systemor project that is to be designed.Contiuous communication is must between the team members along with stakeholders so that everyone in the team is aware of the current stage ,timeline and the objectives decided are being achieved.Inorder to be successful as a BA it is necessary to see that all the tasks are executed correctly and are aligned with stakeholders.It is importand that the product delievered meets the expectataions of the stakeholders and business owners.With both correct planning and monitoring long term success and goals can be achievevd.
