ROLE OF BA PROJECT SUCCESS

Obviously Business analysts plays primary role for project success. From the initial stage until the project hits go-live. As a Business Anlayst He or she align with the development team and with client . They implement various technique and method. Right from gathering the requirement , understanding the basic technical terms and documenting it & finally taking that to the development team for the implementation BUSINESS ANALYST plays serious role. As a Business Analyst his Scope and Participation is a clear win-win method for project success. Right from the list of activities which Business Analyst is handling. Be it elicitation technique, backlog management. Requirements Gathering / Prioritizing the backlog / Agile Ceremonies / Documentation / Also defining Clear User Stories & framing Epics also Justify and Recommend Business Value (BV) & . There are lot more to highlight under his roof for meeting the project success. Connecting with stakeholders , Ideally BA schedules meetings and connects with client to understand his business operations and the business requirement for any product or services to be built, developed and deployed . This activity also involves Identify and map stakeholders. First as a BA we need to build trust by understanding stakeholder pain points and business priorities . Ascertaining all the points and respective action items to be performed . Building trust with clients, external stakeholders needs lot of patience and as a BA the art of communication is very essential . Effective communication along with the subject knowledge and the commitment towards the deliverables, also active listening skills are very much essential. As a BA the most critical aspect for project success is to drive the project without any issues ,confusions . This implies where-ever he or she connects with. Even within the project (Internal stakeholders) Development team , UI/UX team. Regardless of development team or UI/UX team they should believe on Business analyst input . Avoiding arguments. There may be situation, where there may be a barrier or gap or difference of opinion on technical part between BA & Technical team. So as a Business analyst he should take the input & should update that in MOM to discuss further with client to get clarity to clear the cloud. UI/UX team has got sound knowledge on prototype / wireframe etc .So Business analyst and UI & UX team should collaborate together on design part . As a BA - He or she must be available for any meetings initiated for a quick catch based on needs or business priority during tight deadlines. Handling difficult stakeholders & potential challenges Client may have different opinion or priorities, The BA plays a potential role in managing such situations in a organized way. Either he or she must connect for 1-1 discussion with such difficult stakeholders or client to get a clear documentation without interrupting . As a BA we should be cautions on giving commitment on deadline & never attempt to give false commitment or unrealistic goals. Set realistic expectations on scope, timelines, and dependencies. As a BA he or she maintains a stable position and focus on discussions towrds business value. Sometimes , stakeholders keep changing requirement & Communication issues will lead a way for scope creep. A skilled BA handles all the expected challenges ensuring for the project success. Schedule meeting – As a Business analyst we connect with Developers, QA, Scrum Master & the purpose of this meeting will be Clarify user stories and acceptance criteria to avoid confusion and for smooth flow of process . The vision is Fewer defects and rework. As a BA we should align with both internal & external stakeholders to bridge the gap. The more crucial part is Approval & Sign-off depending on the client business As a BA we should Map these meetings to Agile ceremonies & we should also Create a weekly BA meeting calendar & followup reminders to ensure nothing we have missed from our side. As a BA he or she will always be assertive & should learn the art of probing . Ask why where ever required before accepting. This is purely to avoid any dispute .
