Remote Work

As a BA I have choose the topic of top skill for BA to work remotely as i want to work remotely. We not only have to be technically and analytically good but also we need to have strong communication skills and time management and collaboration and documentation skills will also be an advantage and utmost important for a BA. 1. Communication: We should have regular communication with stakeholders and product owners, scrum masters, testers and managers. everybody will work remotely from different cities and states so we have the communicate through chat messages and emails and documentation. 2.Time Management: we should have time management as all the team members will work from direct cites we have to maintain proper documentation and manage meetings, prioritize the task accordingly and track the deadline while managing the multiple stakeholders. 3.Stakeholder Management :when we talk about the stakeholder management we should communicate with them online so we have to keep some points in mind as a BA we have to identify stakeholder and understand business needs and give proper resolution and update the progress and take the sign off. 4.Collobration skills: we have to have collaboration with different team members across different functions as a BA we should work with Product owner to understand the business and work closely with the developers and clarify their doubts and testers to verify the blogs. To all this happen we should have a good positive working relationship with all team members. 5.Documentation skills: are the utmost important skills to work remotely we need to maintain different document such as BRD(business requirements document RTM(requirement traceability matrix) MOM(minutes of meeting) and use case specification document and user stories and change request document are some of the important documents we have to maintain. 6.Analytical thinking: we even need to concrete on analytical thinking to analyze the business need s and problems and identify the risks, gaps and root cause of the problem identify end users and data compare the solution with other market. 7.Tools:As a BA to work remotely we need to have a good understanding in tools such as MS Viso, Balsamic, Axure , Jira, Confluence , Ms excel, Teams, Zoom. These tools will help us to create use case diagrams mock-ups tasks conduct meeting prepare reports. Requirements elicitation will be the core responsibility of BA The common technique used for elicitation and interviews workshops brainstorming surveys observations document analysis and JAD sessions. The main role here will be to understand the business need and document the requirements. 8. Listing Skills: A BA should have active listening skills and have patience to listen without interrupting until the stake holder completes his point of view. He should clearly listen to what the stake holder is saying and understand what problem they are experiencing what concerns and outcome they are expecting from us. 9.Presentation skills: If we have good presentation skills we can explain the requirements clearly and communicate the status of the project and present the solution and collect feedback. BA should be organized and confident while presenting information online. Remote work is not just about working from a different location. It is about being able to communicate clearly, collaborate effectively, stay organized, and create value for the business—even when the team is working from different places.
