Requirement- Requirement is need or problem of business. To identify requirement, first we need to identify the project and what all are the problems areas. Requirement elicitation and collaboration are the foundation of successful business analysis. There are 11 ways to elicitate the requirements B- Brainstorming- It always generate ideas quickly with stakeholders. It majorly done in group. D- Document Analysis- It always done by reading the current procedure. It takes little bit more time as compare than others. F- Focus Group- It majorly works/focuses on stakeholders feedback. I- Interview- This is done one-on-one. This is very helpful. JAD- Joint Application Development- It majorly conducted with SME's, Stakeholder and expert. O- Observation- It elicitate information by observing the things. There are 2 types of observations i.e. passive and active observation. P- Prototyping- It creates mockup and then started working on project. Q- Questionnaire- It is related to ask the limit answers questions. R- Reverse Engineering- This technique is used for migration projects. S- Survey- This is related to ask open/close ended questions W- Workshop- This is related to sessions which refine all the requirements. After gatheting all the requirement, firstly we delete Duplicate requirements and then started working on the requirements. Elicitation Steps: a) Identify stakeholders – Who is affected and who has input. b) Plan elicitation – Choose techniques and schedule sessions. c) Conduct elicitation – Gather requirements using chosen methods. d) Analyze results – Check for completeness, consistency, and feasibility. e) Validate with stakeholders – Confirm accuracy and gain approval. f) Document clearly – Record requirements in user stories, backlog, or SRS. Requirement elicitation is like asking the right questions, listening carefully, and checking back with people to make sure you understood correctly. It’s the detective work of business analysis — finding the real needs behind what people say. Collaboration is the ongoing interaction between stakeholders, business analysts, and development teams to refine, validate, and prioritize requirements so that application can meet its highest value withing timeline. It ensures below points. a) Shared understanding of goals. b) Continuous feedback during sprints or iterations. c) Conflict resolution when priorities differ. d) Traceability of requirements from business need to final delivery. Importance of Collaboration is- a) Shared Understanding: Everyone knows the goals and requirements. b) Faster Feedback: Issues are spotted early, reducing rework. c) Better Decisions: Different perspectives lead to stronger solutions. d) Trust Building: Teams and stakeholders feel ownership of the product. e) Continuous Alignment: Keeps the project on track with business priorities. Collaboration means talking, sharing, and working together all the time so that everyone understands the requirements, agrees on priorities, and helps deliver the right product. It’s not a one‑time meeting — it’s a continuous teamwork process. Collaboration Practices: a) Co‑creation Workshops – Stakeholders and teams design solutions together. b) Story Mapping – Visualizing user journeys to align on priorities. c) Pair Work – Developers, testers, and analysts working side‑by‑side. d) Cross‑functional Teams – HR, Finance, IT, and Compliance collaborating in one Scrum team. e) Feedback Loops – Regular demos and reviews to gather stakeholder input.
